Kevin F. Bonner, MD, FAAOS

Bonner-448x10VV_pp (2)Prior to joining Jordan-Young Institute, Dr. Bonner was an Orthopedic Surgeon in the US Navy for four years.  During his tenure in the Navy, Dr. Bonner was Chief of Sports Medicine at the Portsmouth Naval Hospital and the Academic Director of the Orthopaedic Residency Program. He served as the team physician with the U.S. Navy Seals from 2000-2002.

At the Jordan-Young Institute, Dr Bonner primarily specializes in the treatment of injury involving the knee and shoulder as well as other sports related injuries. He has a keen interest in the improvement of arthroscopic and minimally invasive techniques prior to joint replacement surgery.  Arthroscopic rotator cuff repair is one such example.  He also participates in research related to these procedures.  He has written recent articles and medical textbook chapters on topics including arthroscopic shoulder surgery, meniscus repair, meniscus transplantation, articular cartilage treatment & repair,  osteochondral transplantation, and ligament reconstruction of the knee. Dr Bonner has helped develop some of the newer techniques in cartilage repair which are currently available today in the United States. He enjoys teaching and lecturing at orthopedic conferences throughout the country.

Dr. Bonner lives in Virginia Beach with his wife and children.
